The legend
Did you ever wonder why their is only one Bus Company (Victory Liner) allow to ride the trip from Manila to Olongapo, to Baguio or Iba (where Ramon Magsaysay was born)?

Ramon Magsaysay statue They say: There was a time, when he was already President, that another Bus Company applied for a license to serve on the same lines like the already since many years operating Victory Liner Company. The license was granted but at first only for a limited time. While this time he heard rumors from his relatives in the area around Castillejos, that some bus driver denied to let farmers enter their bus when they look dirty from the work in the fields. One day he decided to check this by himself and rode the way between San Narciso and San Marcelino with such a bus. He found a place next to the driver so he could really see and hear, whatever goes on. The olds insist, that no one recognized him and he could really found evidences for the rumors. They say, when the driver denied to let some farmers enter the bus, he revealed his own identity to the driver and forced him, to serve the passengers.

And because of this experience, they say, no other Company is allow to serve this lines.
